At our recent Family Learning Event in September our parents and children had the opportunity to take part in a range of workshops: Science Workshops; Sign Language; Baking; Cooking; Art; Escape Rooms; Robotics; Couch to 5k; Book Corner.

Our aim was to promote pupils’ health and wellbeing and to engage parents in their child’s learning.

Families were able to engage in activities that focused on a variety of areas:

There was the opportunity to relax with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, a homebake and chat with other families attending the event.

The event was a great success with a really warm, relaxed atmosphere.

There were many positive comments about the event, in particular, how lovely it was for parents to be able to involve themselves in their child’s learning within the school building.

This type of event is certainly something we will look to run again, using feedback from both parents and pupils to help us plan the kinds of activities and workshops we should offer.
